Catherine Koech is a sociologist with over nine years of experience in field data collection,
survey implementation, participant engagement, and project management within the NGO
and development sector. Koech has extensive research expertise across diverse thematic
areas, including health, education, WASH, sexual and gender minority populations, refugee
studies, and urbanization research. Koech has coordinated community-based and
development-focused research initiatives, leading multidisciplinary research teams through
all phases of the research process. Her responsibilities have included overseeing data
collection, ensuring data quality assurance, supervising reporting processes, and upholding
high ethical standards to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of research outputs. Koech is
currently working on the Kenya HealthFin Diaries project. Koech has a Bachelors degree in
Sociology with IT from Maseno university and currently pursuing a Masters degree in Social
Development and Management.
